Emily and Ben created some improved sonic soundscapes late last year. The week before Christmas Ben's grandparents (Sue and George) died within 12 hours of each other. Sue went into an irreversible coma after a fall and was taken off life support. George shortly afterward suffered a heart attack after the shock of it all. Emily graciously agreed to dedicate this album to my grandparents. She is a friend and collaborator and I ws happy to collaborate with her on this album. In fact I think this is one of the best recordings I have ever made. With the losss of Sue and George, we lose a living tie to the 20th century. They were not totally adept to the internet except for their church services during covid. Yet they were modern and advanced and used the US postal service often. Without further to do, here are Emily Cardwell's and Ben Westfall's improvisations bridging the electronic and the acoustic in honor of elders past.
